Adopt a Friend! But Not This One...

The sign on the window urged, "Adopt a Friend!" This dog was the only animal there. When an eleven-year-old girl in our group touched her finger to the window, the dog tried to attack it, through the glass.
I don't think this is the "friend" we should adopt!

a calming presence by our side
