I have been meaning to stop and photo this for ages, so today as I left town I finally stopped.
Yes this is a talking pole, rumour has it that it got misplaced and was found a year or so after it was completed lying in long grass and slightly the worse for wear. It was then repaired, repainted and put in place on the right of the State Highway One as you enter Tokoroa heading South.
