Denise likes to arrange our christmas cards on the sideboard. This year we made even more of a spectacle of them by draping a fake garland in front of them.
I chose a long exposure (1 sec) by trial and error until the red lights showed up as blooms on the camera's LCD screen. I then added flash (manual) until the exposure looked sorta right on the histogram.
I don't have a starlight filter. The stars are fake as explained here.
