On the way from Babile to Harar our minibus stoped to take aboard sheeps that somebody wanted to transport to Harar. They tied up sheeps' legs and loaded them onto roof one by one. There was just metal grid on the roof and all the way to Harar was bumpy. I asked those people if they care about condition of animals - 'coz they certainly broke some bones. It's ok, they told me, those animals are just for meat.

Later I saw such style of transportation again and again.

Ceremony recognizes Military Working Dog, MWD, Kevin, who died while on his tour of duty

By: Spc. Howard Alperin, MND-B PAO.

A memorial tribute honors a fallen comrade April 13 at Camp Liberty. "Military working dogs are an important part of the military team and sometimes they are taken for granted," said Lt. Col. Barbara Sherer, from Springfield, Mo., 1st Cav. Div. chaplain. "It is appropriate to honor their service."

Ceremony recognizes military working dog's contributions, achievements

BAGHDAD - Military working dog teams from throughout Victory Base Complex came out April 13 for a ceremony at the division chapel to honor one of their own. Kevin, a military working dog, passed away due to complications from cancer. His death was unexpected and left the other half of his team, Staff Sgt. Aaron Meier, in limbo and in mourning.

While in theater, military working dogs are not replaced, so Meier will be reassigned to other duties for the remainder of his deployment. As Meier now turns his attention to new job responsibilities, most of his focus still remains on the loyal partner and friend he lost.

"Kevin was the highlight of my day," said Meier, a military dog handler, from Fairmont, Minn., assigned to Division Special Troops Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division.

For more than four years, Meier and Kevin built an excellent working relationship together. "Kevin was a great patrol explosive detector dog," said Meier. "I could flip his on and off switch easily because of all the training we did together."

During their course of working together, the relationship developed further and formed a powerful, personal bond between them. "I was planning on adopting Kevin after this deployment," said Meier. "This was his last time deploying because of his age."

Though he never got to adopt him, Meier and Kevin still had many unforgettable moments together. "I pampered him a lot because a happy dog works better." Meier recalled the first time he gave Kevin a pillow to rest his head when they were together in a hotel preparing for a Secret Service mission. "Kevin had many human characteristics," Meier added.

Kevin's traits will always stick out in the minds of those who knew him. "He was very protective of Sgt. Meier," said Staff Sgt. Christopher Jasper, kennel master at Camp Liberty, DSTB, 1st Cav. Div. "Besides being a great detection and patrol dog, he was good for law enforcement purposes."

As one of the first dogs to participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Kevin's achievements were acknowledged during the ceremony. There were poems read in his honor, Taps was played by a 1st Cav. Div. trumpeter and military working dog teams left snacks in Kevin's bowl as a tribute to his service. "It is appropriate to honor their service," said Lt. Col. Barbara Sherer, from Springfield, Mo., 1st Cav. Div. command chaplain and co-coordinator of the ceremony. "Military working dogs are an important part of the military team and sometimes they are taken for granted."

That's a sentiment echoed by Staff Sgt. Jasper, "We consider dogs to be Soldiers too, they are constantly working." The ceremony gives credit to all the dogs and all the work they do here and in the United States, he added.

Military working dog teams are called upon often to perform their duties, so there is rarely a chance for teams from the different camps to see each other. Kevin afforded each team the opportunity to see in each other more of the common ground they share.

As Kevin's life, the attachment Meier had with him and the work they accomplished together were celebrated, new bonds formed among the Soldiers. They realized more the value of their military working dog teams and appreciated the chance for one of their own to be recognized.

Custom Animation Services For Led

by Zengrrl

Capturing the attention of the people who drive by your business everyday should be a main goal for you. By doing this, you will help to grow your business and your profits. Having a sign that represents you come rain, shine or any weather is really a smart idea. It's an excellent way to advertise your small business.

LED signs are proven to attract new business, and by adding animation to these signs it only increases their effectiveness. Yet, many small businesses do not have access to talent that can design custom animation sequences for these signs. An LED sign could be the perfect communicator of that small business feel to your customer or potential customer base.

"Companies that add an LED sign typically see an increase in business from 15% to 150%, according to the Small Business Administration," said Kim Clark, Director of Marketing for Signs Plus. "Typically, sign animation is filled with clip art and standard graphics. While this type of advertising is effective, having a targeted design and message is exponentially better because it is specifically tailored to an individual business. When animations are personalized for a business it can attract customers even more because they're seeing graphics directly relating to what the business is promoting."

The combination of light, color and motion graphics commands the instant interest of customers and conveys information quickly. Animations can be up to 15 seconds long and produced in a variety of color display options: monochrome, red or amber grayscale or full color RGB. Some full color RGB mixing schemes can generate billions of colors to match branding objectives.

Animations can be used for advertising mediums such as video walls and billboards in addition to indoor and outdoor led signs for businesses like casinos, hotels, theaters, convention centers, car dealerships and sports stadiums. Stock animations are also available.

Custom neon signs use aluminum for giving attractive and bright look. These signs are especially made for people who prefer custom design for their business. The items used for making neon signs cost less than LED sign material. When the raw material is inexpensive then the final product will also be inexpensive. The bright color of these signs catches attention of people towards your store. These signs require less power for advertising.

LED signs get the attention of your customers. Without a sign, people are passing by your unnoticed business every single day. An LED sign can help you catch their attention and get them into the door, so that you can begin the selling process.

Animation Services for Architectural and Construction Industry

by Portland Afoot

Civil engineers, architects and interior designers – they all have to work very hard to bring their concept of designing and construction into reality. They have to construct models, draw designs, draw layouts and much more, yet still often they feel that the ideas are not getting properly spread out. With implementation of 3d modelling via 3d animation services they can remove all these minor hurdles and can get great benefits for their designs and layouts.

Besides, 3d animation services not just provides the general benefits of better designs to the architectural industry, it also proves to be easier, far more effective and adaptive method in architectural designing. 3D modelling has become the most popular trend amongst the architectural industries across the world. This is because of the availability of an array of tools and utilities which makes the designing process easy, and at the same time provides the appealing results.

One can definitely use various 3d animation and rendering software applications which are specifically designed for architectural and civil engineering industries, however mastering these requires enormous amount of time. One also requires a huge amount of practice before he / she becomes well versed with the platform and the application. Hence, taking the help from a professional 3d animation studio certainly proves to be a favourable option wherein you can get the quality work delivered on time.

How 3D Animation is used for Architectural and Construction Industry

The blueprint of any construction unit or the layout of any architectural designing involves numerous stages.

These stages include the structure of the building or the architecture, the interiors as well as the landscape. The 3D modelling of all these stages will give the engineer, the architect and the builder will give the most realistic, crystal clear and best possible image of the structure that is meant to be created or built.

3D animation services allows the people involved in the architectural and construction industry to analyze, plan and sort out all the issues related to designing, construction and other technical aspects on the initial stage itself. This ultimately helps to save a huge amount of time, resources and money. At the same time, it also helps to avoid the problem that would have risen during the construction due to any of these aspects as well as the time spent behind solving these problems during the actual construction process.

Additionally, 3d animation also serves as one of the best way to represent your construction or architectural designs and layouts. For instance, if you are construction a building it will give a realistic figure of the building as how actually it will look like and what you could expect after the construction.  If you are able to integrate 3D walkthrough, then it will allow the people to get the actual visual experience of the prospective, design and scale. Overall, it will create an actual functional model reflecting that how the building will be when people start using it.

Animation can sometimes refer to a way of activating a community, i.e. animatingthe users. This means actions which encourages users to interact with a given service and is connected to moderation. Digital models manipulated by an animator. In order to manipulate a mesh, it is given a digital armature (sculpture). This process is called rigging. Various other techniques can be applied, such as mathematical functions (ex. gravity, particle simulations), simulated fur or hair, effects such as fire and water and the use of Motion capture to name but a few. Many 3D Modal and animations are very believable and are commonly used as special effects for recent movies.
On October 1, 1946 a northeast motion picture studio was established in the Nenjiang province known today as the Heilongjiang province. It is the first known studio established by a communist party. opossum on the patio

security guard cat alerted me to the presence of an intruder on the patio a few minutes ago. looking out the window i saw this young opossum hiding out in the plants, so i put on some shorts and went outside to have a look. he didn't seem ill or injured, just a little lost, so i took some shots and let him hide out. after i watered the plants he decided to move along (or just found a more concealing lair). the whole time he was out there, one of the neighbourcats was sprawled across a table, completely disinterested in the great fat meatsource waddling about.

checking again fifteen minutes later, he's either moved on, been eaten, or nested invisibly.

and a later update: leaving for the gym, i spotted him investigating the tomato bush that the day before had mysteriously decided to drop a whole bunch of small, firm, unripe tomatoes. i think i've found the culprit, and had been blaming either cats, raccoons or squirrels.

...

like local library branches, the riverdale farm faces severe cuts and possibly being closed if the right-wing idiots in city council get their way. the audit of city services conducted by kpmg was stupidly short-sighted and failed to account for ripple effects in any way, as the firm was (unsurprisingly) not asked to look beyong the initial step of cutting expenditures.

toronto, like most cities, makes many millions of dollars via tourism, some of it internal (local residents travelling across town, people within an hour or two of the city coming for entertainment) and a great deal of it sourced nationally and internationally. places like riverdale farm, allan gardens, waterfront parks, the islands and so on may seem incidental or unimportant all on their own, but they add huge value to the city. eliminating them or severely trimming their operating hours transforms a unique city with distinct attractions valued by broadly varied demographics, thereby reducing the value of the city as a tourist destination. this attacks the hotel, restaurant, bar and many other industries, not to mention local transit (both public and private), general shopping and any other business that depends on even a sliver of the money from people who now come here, but who will choose other destinations with more and more varied lures. businesses are also less likely to consider opening up franchises, plants or stores (yes, i'm fixating on economic factors here - these are the arguments that permeate the skulls of the people who remain unconvinced) if their staff will have diminished offtime lives or if the corporate heads feel that the area has done little to attract educated, progressive people. infrastructure matters a great deal, and one layer of infrastructure is the network of amenities and services that workers, tourists and local citizens have to make their lives easier, more fulfilled and appealing to them and their friends, families and colleagues, many of whom come to visit and want to explore a dynamic environment, not one that devoid of unique properties.

clearly the clown ford brothers and their sycophants on city council have a vision for the city, but it is a grim, money-driven one that has no vision of the character of a place they grudgingly call home. i hated the amalgamation of the city when it happened, and the terrible decision that was is apparent more and more with this idiot mayor and troglodyte council. this disgusting clown of a mayor has nothing but contempt for anyone and anything not whitebread, uninflected and devoid of personality, so his insight into the values of the downtown core and other areas of the city beyong his grey compound are worthless. toronto thrives on diversity and has for a long time - these attacks on small, unique attractions are in line with his hatred of pride day and people who aren't heterosexual and white like him.

fuck ford, his brother, the rest of the right wing and kpmg for this myopic and bullshit report. every single person who voted for these assholes or support them in any way should have their livelihoods threatened the way these cuts threaten the lives and paycheques of decent people who value diversity and don't want toronto to become a fucking strip mall populated with multinational chain outlets staffed by people who want to drive home after work and watch television.

fuck those who want to kill riverdale farm and sign the petition here, then email your city councillor and the nasty fraud of a mayor (Mayor_Ford@toronto.ca) to tell them you won't tolerate it.

further, the local libraries are also under attack by this filth. join team atwood and help preserve literacy in toronto while pointing out to rob ford and his sycophantic shitheads at city hall that libraries are important and deserve funding. online petition here, which i signed and added this comment to:
