by _tar0_

Igor Siwanowicz is the photographer who studies about the habits and physiology of mantis – one of the most compelling creatures on Earth. That also gives him endless inspiration to painstakingly produce such incredible and thought-provoking photos of these beautiful creatures. Biochemist and photographer Igor Siwanowicz has spent seven years gathering and breeding these strange insects and document to behold. He states that he is considerably influenced by the art works of HR Giger – the monster’s designer in Alien films.

To capture these creatures, Igor Siwanowicz used macro photography techniques which assist people to take close shots of the subject. Furthermore, macro photography allows photographers to spot life-size subject with magnified photographic techniques. Let's check out the beautiful creatures on their ways of surviving in the wild.
